Aunt Grizelda’s Vile Villains

Aunt Grizelda is Anna Best’s delightfully demi-mortal alter ego with a gruesome talent for grisly rhymes, and she is back with her newest collection of tales featuring notoriously vile villains from history, legend, and literature.

The wicked and wily cast will keep you enthralled with their dastardly deeds and dire downfalls. Whether you’re trembling at Dr. Frankenstein’s ghastly experiments, giggling at Princess Christina’s clever escape from the utterly horrid Henry, or basking in the well-deserved comeuppance of Snow White’s wicked stepmother, these scurrilous bad ‘uns await with devilish hospitality (Count Dracula included, naturally).

About the Project
Commissioned by Hogs Back Books, this is the fourth installment in the Aunt Grizelda series, written by the excellent Anna Best. I tried in the illustrations to bring Best’s vivid imagination to life, matching the book’s macabre-meets-whimsical aesthetic.
